Mark making to represent ideas of numbers (PAUD 3-4 tahun)

Each child chose which animal was their favourite out of a choice of dog, cat and fish. In turn they came to the front and made a mark on the paper under the picture of the animal they had chosen. When everyone had had their turn we counted all the marks and compared which had the most and which had the least. The children watched as I modelled how to write the numerals.

(Setiap anak memilih binatang favoritnya; anjing, kucing, atau ikan. Secara bergiliran mereka maju ke depan kelas dan membubuhkan tanda pada kertas, di bawah gambar binatang yang mereka pilih. Ketika semua sudah melakukannya, kami menghitung jumlah tanda pada setiap kertas dan membandingkan mana yang terbanyak dan mana yang paling sedikit. Anak-anak memperhatikan saat saya memeragakan bagaimana menulis angka.)
